WILLY WONKA PRODUCTION

Auditions for Willy Wonka are June 22nd and June 23rd at Christ Methodist Church 54 Bay St. This is also where all rehearsals will be held for this show.

On the first day of auditions everyone has a time slot.Everyone registered will be doing a monologue and their 16-32 measures of a song from the show.  If you have registered and have not received a time slot please email me ASAP at bwayupstate@yahoo.com.

The second night of auditions will be in two groups. Group A will arrive at 5pm and Group B will arrive at 7pm. Both Groups will be done by 8pm. We will post who is in which group after the first night of auditions. That will be posted on the closed facebook group. The second night of auditions will be reading, singing and dancing. Please dress in something comfortable and bring water.

Rehearsals begin July 11th with the full cast 5pm-9pm. We will start the first rehearsal with a parent meeting at 5pm. This is for parents and actors so please don’t just drop and run on the first night of rehearsals. There will be some rehearsals in the first couple of weeks that not everyone will be called for so please, please watch facebook and sign up for our remind texts with Tina Hayes our production manager. Tina will also have a sign in and out sheet for every night of rehearsal. You must sign your child in and out of rehearsal. If your carpool please send a note into Tina. Lots more information to give at the parent meeting regarding the production. Looking forward to a great summer.

PLEASE READ 2016 POLICIES BELOW

BROADWAY UPSTATE HAS PUT THE FOLLOWING POLICIES INTO PLACE FOR OUR 2016 SEASON DUE TO INCREASED PARTICIPATION.

AUDITION POLICY 2016:

Any candidate who has been in 5 or more Broadway Upstate shows will automatically be guaranteed a spot in the show, but must audition for a role.  Any candidate who has participated in fewer than 5 Broadway Upstate shows must audition to get into the show and for a role. All children auditioning for Annie Jr must be in grades 4-8th. Willy Wonka is open to grades 4-12. Legally Blonde Jr grades 6-12.

TUITION PAYMENT 2016:

Any candidate who is guaranteed a spot in a show must pay tuition before or at the time of audition.  Any candidate that is auditioning for a spot must accept their role and pay tuition within 3 days of notification that they have been selected for a spot in the show.  Once tuition is paid it is non-refundable. Preferably all registration and payments will be handled on our new website. If you are unable to pay online please remit check to Broadway Upstate 2 Waynes Way Middle Granville NY 12849.

ATTENDANCE POLICY 2016:

Only two absences are allowed during the rehearsal period of a show. There are absolutely no absences allowed tech week of the shows. These 2 allotted absences are not to be taken unless absolutely necessary. We understand that children have other commitments but doing a production in a 6 week time frame demands perfect attendance.

PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES FOR 2016:

We like to have parents involved in their child’s theater experience. There are many ways to get involved and help your child blossom in theater. We do require parents to sign up to be on a committee. Committees are formed at the start of each show. We have concession sales, basket raffles, backstage helpers, stage crew and more. We also ask that each family bring in a baked good for our concession sales during the shows.
